Hamilton Community Foundation’s scholarships and bursary funds provide assistance and encouragement to promising young students challenged by the costs of education. In all cases, the funds are paid directly to the student’s educational institution on his or her behalf. The following HCF scholarship, bursary and fellowships are available through an open-call process.
This fund provides educational bursaries to students with serious financial need who have graduated from a publicly funded high school in Hamilton who are registered at an approved college or university in Canada or the United States. The bursary can be used to assist with tuition, housing and other expenses related to your post-secondary education. You can apply to this fund to support your first year as well as subsequent years of studies at a college, university or institute.
When you apply to the Chaney-Ensign Bursary Fund, you will automatically be considered for five other bursaries, depending on your individual circumstances, from the following funds:
Two application deadlines: September 20 and January 20. (you must submit your application to your Financial Aid Office by this date)
This fund provides bursaries for students with serious financial need who have graduated from a publicly funded high school in Hamilton or Burlington, who are enrolled in a performing arts program at a college, university or institution in Canada or the United States, studying voice, drama, dance or musical instrument. You can apply to this fund to support your first year as well as subsequent years of studies.
The Geritol Follies performing arts bursary can be used to assist with tuition, housing and other expenses related to your post-secondary education.
Application deadline: October 31 (you must submit your application to your Financial Aid Office by this date)
This fund’s priorities include supporting students of music at the post-secondary level with tuition and educational expenses. Preference will be given to students who are studying voice and have an affiliation with one or more of the following organizations: The Hamilton Children’s Choir, Canadian Orpheus Male Choir, Ars Antiqua Choir (Burlington), St. Luke’s Anglican Church Choir (Burlington) and Christ’s Church Cathedral Choir (Hamilton).
